Swiss veteran Xherdan Shaqiri continues his impressive form since returning to Basel, delivering another standout moment in last night's Swiss Cup round of 16.
At 33 years old, Shaqiri has been making headlines with his performances, and his latest masterpiece—a brilliant free-kick against Sion—set the tone early, putting Basel up 1-0 in the fifth minute of the match.
The game ended 2-2 in regular time, with Basel ultimately advancing through a penalty shootout (4-1). Shaqiri’s contributions are also evident in the league, where Basel leads the table after 16 rounds with a one-point advantage over Lugano.
