Palmeiras struggles to keep their mega talents until adulthood: Luis Guilherme moves to the Premier League

The great hope of Palmeiras and Brazilian football, Luis Guilherme, has signed a five-year contract with London’s West Ham today.

If Palmeiras had the privilege of retaining their great talents within their ranks, they would currently have a generation capable of pushing boundaries. Almost simultaneously, three gems from their youth academy have emerged – Endrick, Willian Estevao, and Luis Guilherme.

The first has already joined Real Madrid, the second is on the verge of signing with Chelsea, and the third has today signed a five-year contract with West Ham United. The club will pay a fixed transfer fee of 23 million euros, with an additional seven million euros tied to various bonuses. Should West Ham sell him during the contract period, Palmeiras will be entitled to 20 percent of the transfer fee's value.

Luis Guilherme, an 18-year-old winger, has already made 40 appearances for Palmeiras' senior team, which is considered one of the best in South America. As a member of Palmeiras, he has won the Brazilian championship and the Libertadores Cup.
