New Plymouth Argyle boss Miron Muslic inspired players and fans with a rousing first address following the team’s stunning 1-0 FA Cup victory over Brentford.
Miron Muslic, appointed as Plymouth Argyle’s new manager on January 10, has already made a significant impact with his leadership. Muslic, who succeeded Wayne Rooney, delivered a powerful speech to the squad and staff upon taking charge, which left players and fans inspired and optimistic about the club’s future.
After Plymouth’s shock victory over Brentford in the FA Cup, the club shared Muslic’s first address to the team. In his opening words, the Austrian coach praised caretaker manager Kevin Nancekivell for his dedication and bravery during a challenging period. "Good to be here, very good to be here. Normally, I would always address my words firstly to the team. But, this morning, I will address my first words to Nance," Muslic began.
He continued, "Your courage, your commitment, your selflessness is an inspiration. There are moments in life and moments on the football pitch where the heat is on, the pressure is on, and people just disappear, run away and hide. Other people like Nance step up. That's courage, balls."
Muslic emphasized the challenges that come with being a professional footballer, urging his players to stay committed and united in the face of adversity. "Nothing in the next weeks will be easy for us, no problem! Let’s face this challenge in front of us with commitment, with heart, with togetherness, because you impressed me against Brentford. Going there, and delivering a performance the way you did. F****** hell, well done," he said.
His passionate speech struck a chord with Plymouth’s fans, who took to social media to express their admiration. One supporter wrote, "Wow, he speaks well." Another added, "If those players won’t run through a brick wall for him then they’re gone. There’s an aura around this guy."
Other fans praised Muslic’s leadership qualities, with one writing, "This man is the real deal. How did we land this man at our club? Supposedly even PL teams have been watching him. He’s a rising manager star on many radars."
Plymouth’s victory was sealed by Morgan Whittaker, who scored the decisive goal in the 82nd minute, sending fans into a frenzy and setting up a high-profile fourth-round FA Cup clash with Liverpool on February 8.
Muslic’s arrival marks a new chapter for Plymouth, with supporters optimistic about what the future holds under his guidance. Many believe that the Austrian coach’s passion and leadership could propel the club to new heights. As one fan put it, "I can see a very good 3 years with this man. Welcome!"
