The former English star hasn’t lost his touch. Today, the iconic Wazza shined in the Legends match against Celtic.

Today saw a match between the Manchester United legends and the Celtic legends. The Scots won after a penalty shootout, but the only goal in regular time for the Red Devils was scored by retired striker and current Plymouth Argyle manager, Wayne Rooney. The former United captain struck like in his prime with a beautifully executed free kick.

Believe it or not, Manchester United fans haven’t seen a free-kick goal at Old Trafford for two years, with the last one being scored by Cristiano Ronaldo in 2022.

The legendary Wazza made 559 appearances for United, scoring a record-breaking 253 goals and providing 139 assists across all competitions. He won the Champions League, played in two more finals, won the Premier League five times, and claimed numerous domestic cups.

As a manager, Rooney has led Derby County, D.C. United, and Birmingham, and since May of this year, he has been at the helm of second-tier club Plymouth Argyle.
