After a disappointing exit in the Round of 16 at the European Championship against Switzerland, Italy needed a win to regain the faith of their fans. The Azzurri did just that, defeating France 3-1 in their opening match of the Nations League.
The victory was crowned by an outstanding goal, crafted by Sandro Tonali and Federico Dimarco. Playing in only his second official match since serving a ten-month suspension, Tonali produced a stunning backheel assist, perfectly setting up Inter’s Dimarco, who finished the move with a volley past French goalkeeper Mike Maignan.
