Toni Kroos, the legendary German midfielder and recently retired Real Madrid star, has unveiled his dream eleven, made up entirely of retired footballers.
The selection excludes modern stars like Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Luka Modrić, focusing instead on players from previous generations.
One of the most surprising inclusions in Kroos’ lineup is Frenchman Johan Micoud, who made a significant impression during his four years with Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga. Micoud, though never a central figure for the French national team, played a pivotal role in Werder’s double-winning season, securing both the German championship and the DFB-Pokal.
Micoud’s inclusion highlights the influence he had on Kroos, despite not enjoying the same global recognition as others in the lineup. The Frenchman also played for Bordeaux and Parma during his career, but his time in Bremen cemented his legacy as a Bundesliga great.
The rest of Kroos’ dream team features some of the most iconic names in football history: Iker Casillas, Cafu, Paolo Maldini, Roberto Carlos, Andrea Pirlo, Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldinho, Miroslav Klose, Thierry Henry, and Ronaldo.
Kroos’ choices reflect his admiration for players who defined an era of football, combining technical brilliance, leadership, and flair.
