According to the sports statistics platform OPTA, Strahinja Pavlović is one of the young players to watch at the upcoming European Championship, highlighting his potential to make a significant impact.

OPTA, a renowned sports statistics platform, conducted a study on players who could attract the most attention at the upcoming European Championship.

On OPTA's list of nine players under 23 who might make a significant impact at the tournament, Serbian international Strahinja Pavlović is included. The Red Bull Salzburg and Serbia center-back is one of those who could surprise, according to the analysis.

"Serbia has produced some great defenders in the past, and it seems Strahinja Pavlović is another one of them. The Red Bull Salzburg talent is a blend of the old type and modern variations of central defenders. His physical attributes make him stand out on the field, a true example of a defensive player no forward will enjoy playing against. And this is evident in his stats."

"Among all players who spent at least 1,000 minutes on the field in the Austrian Bundesliga last season, only three surpassed his 64.1% duel win rate, with him having at least 177 more duels than those three. Additionally, only two players were more successful than Pavlović's 71.9% aerial duel win rate, and in this aspect, he had 153 more aerial challenges than the mentioned pair," states the report.

The report also highlights his speed and technique.

"The fact that he is a natural force should not lead to misunderstandings about his technique. We don't want to say he is 'soft on the ball for such a big man,' but he is certainly a player who likes to have the ball at his feet and controls it well. Last season, he progressed and was the third player in the Austrian Bundesliga for the number of progressive carries (345) and fifth for progressive carries of at least 10 meters (122), demonstrating his desire to start Salzburg's attacks. Considering his build, he has a surprising change of pace," the analysis continues.

Alongside Pavlović, the list also includes Belgium center-back Zeno Debast, Croatia central midfielder Martin Baturina, Ukraine central midfielder Georgi Sudakov, Portugal defensive midfielder João Neves, Spain left-winger Nico Williams, Slovakia left-winger Leo Sauer, Belgium right-winger Johan Bakayoko, and Georgia forward Georges Mikautadze.
