Real Madrid’s early goal from Kylian Mbappe sparked an impressive Barcelona response, with four goals before the break putting them in control of the final in Saudi Arabia.
The Spanish Super Cup final between fierce rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid is delivering fireworks in Saudi Arabia tonight. Despite taking an early lead, Real Madrid find themselves trailing 4-1 at half-time after a stunning comeback by Barcelona.
Real Madrid got off to a perfect start in the 5th minute when star forward Kylian Mbappe finished off a rapid counterattack. After receiving a precise pass from Vinicius Junior, Mbappe sprinted half the length of the pitch, beat Alejandro Balde in the box, and slotted the ball past the goalkeeper to make it 1-0.
Madrid’s goal only seemed to fire up Barcelona, who responded brilliantly. In the 22nd minute, teenage sensation Lamine Yamal equalized with a brilliant solo effort after a neat assist from Robert Lewandowski. The 16-year-old showed incredible composure, evading Ferland Mendy and wrong-footing Aurelien Tchouameni before finishing coolly into the bottom corner. This marked Yamal’s eighth goal of the season.
Barcelona continued their onslaught, and in the 35th minute, Lewandowski put them ahead by converting a penalty after a foul in the box. Just four minutes later, Raphinha made it 3-1, heading in a perfectly timed cross from Jules Kounde.
With nine minutes of added time, Barcelona weren’t done yet. In the final minute of stoppage time, Alejandro Balde scored to make it 4-1, capping off an extraordinary first half for the Catalans. Real Madrid’s defense looked shell-shocked as they headed into the break with a mountain to climb.
Despite the commanding scoreline, Real Madrid have the firepower to stage a comeback. With players like Mbappe and Vinicius Junior on the pitch, they’ll be hoping for an early goal in the second half to spark a revival. However, Barcelona’s confidence is sky-high, and their attacking quartet looks unstoppable.
