AS Roma has found itself under fire on social media after a blunder involving Ukrainian striker Artem Dovbik’s jersey. During their Serie A match against Atalanta in the 14th round, Dovbik’s last name was misspelled as "Dobvik" on his kit, sparking a wave of online mockery.
Fans were quick to pounce on the mistake, using it as another example of Roma’s disastrous season, with the club currently sitting 15th in Serie A with just 13 points. The error has further added to the frustration of supporters, who are already disappointed with the team’s performances this season.
The 26-year-old forward, who joined Roma from Girona this summer for €30.5 million, has yet to live up to expectations. So far, Dovbik has scored six goals and provided one assist in 18 matches across all competitions. While his contributions are respectable, they fall short of the high hopes Roma had for their marquee summer signing.
Before joining Girona in 2023, Dovbik played for clubs including Dnipro, Zorya, Midtjylland, and SønderjyskE. However, his debut season in Italy has been overshadowed by both the team’s struggles and this latest off-field blunder.
As fans mocked the jersey mistake, some joked that the mix-up was symbolic of Roma’s season: chaotic and far from the mark.
