Real Madrid showcased their attacking firepower at the Santiago Bernabéu, thrashing RB Salzburg 5-1 in a dominant Champions League performance.

The Spanish giants’ electrifying front three of Rodrygo, Kylian Mbappé, and Vinícius Jr. ran riot, scoring all five goals and leaving the Austrian visitors without hope.

Rodrygo opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, capitalizing on a perfect assist from Jude Bellingham. The English midfielder linked up with Vinícius Jr. before extending the ball to Rodrygo, who slotted it home. The duo combined again in the 34th minute, with Rodrygo finishing a brilliant move for his second goal, making it 2-0.

Kylian Mbappé added to the tally early in the second half, pouncing on a goalkeeping error to put Madrid up 3-0. Shortly after, Vinícius Jr. took center stage. In the 55th minute, he made a blistering run down the left wing, found space, and calmly finished to make it 4-0. He then sealed the rout in the 75th minute with another clinical strike following a pinpoint pass from Federico Valverde.

Salzburg managed a consolation goal in the 85th minute, but the damage was long done. The Austrians, already eliminated from advancing before this match, were overwhelmed by Madrid’s relentless attacking display. For their part, Real Madrid secured their spot in the additional qualifiers and sent a clear message to the rest of Europe.
