Tijjani Reijnders confirms he will extend his contract with AC Milan until 2029, doubling his salary after an impressive season with 11 goals in 33 appearances.
Tijjani Reijnders has confirmed that he will soon sign a contract extension with AC Milan, extending his stay at the club until 2029. The Dutch midfielder revealed his intentions in an interview with France Football, expressing his ambition to win trophies and make history with the Rossoneri.
"My biggest goal is to win as many trophies as possible. I play football to write my name in history books, and I hope to achieve that with Milan, where I'll soon extend my contract," said Reijnders.
"Being a Ballon d'Or candidate one day is, of course, a dream because it means a lot. It will all depend on my performances and the trophies I win. If I continue to strive to be the best player I can in every match, work hard for the team, and be decisive, it will be easy to get nominated."
Details of the new contract
Reijnders' new deal will see his salary double from €1.7 million net per season to €3.5 million, with additional bonuses linked to personal and team achievements. Both Reijnders and teammate Mike Maignan, who is also close to renewing his contract, will continue to benefit from the Decreto Crescita tax relief, which was in effect when they arrived in Italy.
Reijnders' impressive 2024/25 season
The 2024/25 season has been a breakout year for Reijnders. With 11 goals and 3 assists in 33 appearances across all competitions, he has become the fifth Dutch player to score at least 10 goals in Serie A for Milan. He joins an elite list that includes Marco van Basten (90 goals), Clarence Seedorf (47), Ruud Gullit (38), and Frank Rijkaard (16).
