Red Bull Salzburg aims to recover from a 0-7 goal difference and secure crucial points in their upcoming Champions League match against Dinamo Zagreb.
After suffering a crushing 0-4 defeat against Brest at home and previously losing 0-3 to Sparta Prague, Red Bull Salzburg finds themselves with zero points and a goal difference of 0-7 in the expanded Champions League. Despite their poor start, the Austrian vice-champions are determined to bounce back in their next match against Dinamo Zagreb on October 23rd.
Speaking after the defeat, Danish midfielder Mads Bidstrup reflected on the tough loss: "It was a hard game, really difficult to describe. I think we did some things right, which makes it crazy to stand here after a 0-4 loss. The main reason is that we didn't capitalize on our chances. I had a big chance myself in the first half."
Now, with a key home match at Red Bull Arena against the Croatian champions after the international break, Salzburg is focused on turning things around. "We have to concentrate on the games ahead, especially the next one against Dinamo. We have to win. We need to see what we can improve because what we've done so far is clearly not enough," concluded Bidstrup.
Following their poor start, Salzburg sees Dinamo as their best opportunity to claim points in the group stage, much like Slovan Bratislava did before them.
