Lecce target Danilo Veiga as a replacement for Patrick Dorgu, who is linked with a Premier League move to Manchester United amid ongoing negotiations.
Patrick Dorgu, Lecce’s talented Danish winger, has captured the attention of Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim. United have made an initial bid for the 20-year-old, but it fell short of Lecce’s expectations. However, negotiations are ongoing, and Lecce appears prepared for his potential departure.
The Serie A club has identified Danilo Veiga, a 22-year-old Portuguese player currently with Estrela Amadora, as Dorgu’s possible replacement. Veiga impressed during his stint at Croatian side Rijeka before making the move to Portugal last summer. Reports indicate Lecce has already made an offer for Veiga, signaling readiness to move on from Dorgu.
Dorgu has had a standout season, scoring three goals and registering one assist in 22 appearances, making him a hot commodity in the transfer market. While United is leading the race for his signature, other clubs have also expressed interest in the promising winger.
For Manchester United, securing Dorgu would address a critical issue on the left flank, an area where the squad currently lacks depth. With the club enduring a challenging domestic season, coach Amorim is in dire need of reinforcements to bolster his team’s fortunes.
