Enis Cokaj , a midfielder from Panathinaikos, is set to join Osijek on a one-and-a-half-year loan deal, fulfilling a pursuit that began last summer under the new sporting director Jose Boto.

NK Osijek is gearing up to finalize their first major signing since Jose Boto took over as the club's sporting director. Enis Cokaj , an Albanian midfielder formerly of Lokomotiva and currently with Panathinaikos, is poised to become Osijek's new addition, a goal the club has harbored since last summer when Ivica Kulešević was at the helm.

The deal, which has been in the pipeline since last summer, underwent some adjustments. Initially, Panathinaikos was reluctant to agree to a loan with an option to buy, a term that Kulešević was keen on. However, under Boto's stewardship, the negotiation took a different turn, and the club has now successfully arranged terms with Panathinaikos for Cokaj 's transfer.

Cokaj is scheduled for a medical examination tomorrow and will join Osijek on a loan lasting one and a half years. Details regarding any agreed buyout price after the loan period are not disclosed yet.

With his contract with the Greek giant set to expire in the summer of 2026, Čokaj will still have a year left with Panathinaikos after his loan spell at Osijek concludes.

Known for his extensive work rate, defensive solidity, and promising offensive skills, Cokaj is expected to form a formidable midfield partnership with the more offensively inclined Darko Nejašmić. This strategic acquisition marks a significant step for Osijek as they continue to strengthen their squad under the new sporting direction.
