Paris Saint-Germain has confirmed the signing of Désiré Doué, one of the brightest talents in European football.
The 18-year-old French prodigy has joined the French champions from Rennes for a reported fee of €50 million, penning a five-year contract with the Parisian giants.
Despite his young age, Doué has already made 76 senior appearances for Rennes, contributing eight goals and seven assists in Ligue 1. His performances have caught the attention of top European clubs, with Bayern Munich also reportedly in the race for his signature before PSG secured the deal.
This move marks PSG's fourth major signing of the summer, following the arrivals of João Neves, Willian Pacho, and Matvey Safonov. The club has already spent close to €200 million in the current transfer window, as they look to bolster their squad for both domestic and European challenges. PSG started their new season on a high note, securing all three points in their opener against Le Havre.
Doué is primarily a left winger but is highly versatile, capable of playing on the right wing or in a more central role behind the striker. His technical skills and two-footed ability make him a valuable asset for PSG's attacking options. The youngster also represented France at the Paris Olympics this year, scoring once and providing an assist in five appearances, further solidifying his reputation as a future star.
In a related note, Doué's older brother, Guéla Doué, who is a promising 21-year-old defender, also made a move this summer. He joined Strasbourg from Rennes for €7 million, highlighting the family's footballing pedigree.
