The legendary German goalkeeper is ready to continue his remarkable career, with a new contract extension at Bayern Munich expected soon.
Despite turning 39 in March and nearing the end of his current contract, Manuel Neuer has no intention of stepping away from the game. The Bayern Munich veteran has announced his desire to extend his contract, which would see him remain between the posts at least until he turns 40.
Neuer joined Bayern in 2011 from Schalke for €30 million, and over the last 14 years, he has become a club legend. He has made 541 appearances for the Bavarians, remarkably keeping a clean sheet in 440 matches. This season, he received the first red card of his career, a rare blemish on an otherwise exceptional record.
His trophy cabinet is as impressive as his longevity. Neuer has claimed 11 Bundesliga titles, 2 Champions League trophies, 6 DFB Cups, 7 German Super Cups, 2 Club World Cups, and 2 UEFA Super Cups. Internationally, he reached the pinnacle of football by winning the 2014 FIFA World Cup with Germany. Since making his debut for the national team in 2009, he has earned 124 caps.

Bayern currently sit atop the Bundesliga table, leading by four points over Bayer Leverkusen, who are the defending champions. With Neuer’s leadership, they are well-positioned to maintain their advantage as they seek another league title.
