Kylian Mbappe refused to engage in Neymar's claims about jealousy towards Messi at PSG, emphasizing his focus on Real Madrid and expressing respect for his former teammate.
Kylian Mbappe has declined to comment on recent remarks by his former teammate Neymar, who claimed the French forward was "jealous" of his relationship with Lionel Messi during their time at Paris Saint-Germain. Speaking to TNT Sport, Neymar suggested that tension arose after Messi joined the Parisian club in 2021.
Neymar told former Brazil star Romario last week, “When Messi arrived, I think he got a little jealous. He didn’t want to share me with anyone, and then the fights began, the change of behaviour. I always told him, I joked with him, that he was going to be one of the best. I always helped him, I talked to him.”
However, Mbappe brushed off the claims when asked about them, maintaining that he is focused on his current career with Real Madrid. “Honestly, I have nothing to say. I’m focused on what I do here in Madrid,” the striker said. He emphasized that while he respects Neymar, he has moved on from their time together at PSG.
Mbappe went on to say, “I have a lot of respect for Neymar. I could say a lot about him, but I want to remember the good things about him, like that he’s a unique player in the history of football and all our moments together in Paris. Now I’m in Madrid, I want to enjoy it. I wish Neymar and his family the best of luck.”
At just 26 years old, Mbappe continues to attract attention both on and off the pitch. His commitment to Real Madrid appears unwavering as he aims to establish himself as a cornerstone of the team’s future successes.
