Manchester United has abandoned their pursuit of PSG's Manuel Ugarte and is now exploring other midfield options.
Manchester United has decided to forgo the transfer of Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain and is now seeking other options.
According to reports from British media, Erik ten Hag and director Dan Ashworth are unwilling to meet the €60 million asking price set by the French champions. Consequently, United has identified new targets, including several players not previously linked with the club this summer.
Before making any new acquisitions, the club aims to offload at least two midfielders, Scott McTominay and Casemiro. Fulham has shown interest in the Scottish international, while clubs from Saudi Arabia are the primary suitors for Casemiro.
Regarding potential new signings, United has a shortlist of five names. The club has already contacted the agent of Burnley's 28-year-old midfielder Sander Berge.
According to the "Mirror," United is also interested in Youssouf Fofana from Monaco, Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, Richard Rios from Palmeiras, and Sofyan Amrabat, who played on loan from Fiorentina last season.
In addition to midfielders, United might also look for defensive reinforcements, particularly for the center-back position, as well as left and right backs.
