Manchester City is finalizing a deal for Brazilian defensive prodigy Vitor Reis from Palmeiras in a record-breaking transfer worth €40 million.
Manchester City is approaching the January transfer window with full determination as the club, led by Pep Guardiola, seeks an immediate rebuild of its faltering squad. This week is shaping up to be a busy one for the reigning English champions, who are reportedly finalizing three major signings.
Deals for Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush and Uzbek defender Abdukodir Khusanov are already in place. Meanwhile, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that City is also set to secure the highly-rated Brazilian talent Vitor Reis, widely regarded in Brazil as a generational defensive prospect.
City has reached an agreement with Palmeiras for the 18-year-old defender, with the transfer fee, including bonuses, expected to reach €40 million. This would make Reis the most expensive defender in the history of Brazilian club football.
The young Brazilian has attracted significant interest from other top European clubs, including Arsenal and Real Madrid, but Manchester City has managed to outpace its competition for the sought-after prospect.
