Atletico Madrid is considering signing Dinamo Zagreb’s Petar Sučić, following endorsements from Luka Modrić and Predrag Mijatović.
Atletico Madrid is interested in acquiring Petar Sučić from Dinamo Zagreb, with coach Diego Simeone seeking an additional defensive midfielder to strengthen his squad. Simeone's scouts are evaluating candidates who meet the criteria of quality, age, and affordability.
According to reports, the 21-year-old Croatian international has impressed Atletico scouts with his performances for Dinamo Zagreb, where he contributed to notable Champions League victories over Salzburg and Slovan Bratislava.
Spanish media sources reveal that former Real Madrid sporting director Predrag Mijatović recommended Sučić to Atletico. Mijatović, a friend of Atletico’s Carlos Bucero, along with Luka Modrić, who plays alongside Sučić for the Croatian national team, both vouched for the young midfielder.
Interestingly, during Damir Krznar’s tenure as Maribor’s coach, Sučić was considered a potential signing for the Slovenian club Maribor.
