Jude Bellingham continues to rewrite England's football history. One of the country's greatest strikers believes the Real Madrid star is on course to become the greatest English player the game has ever seen.

England's World Cup campaign has been driven by what many fans now call the team's "Batman and Robin". Between Harry Kane and Bellingham, they have scored every England goal at the 2026 World Cup except for Marcus Rashford's strike against Croatia in the opening group match.

Against Norway in the quarter-finals, Bellingham once again delivered when England needed him most. The midfielder scored twice as Thomas Tuchel's side recovered from behind to win 2-1 after extra time and book their place in the semi-finals.

As England celebrated in Miami, thousands of supporters sang "Hey Jude", while former England captain and legendary striker Gary Lineker offered perhaps the biggest compliment of Bellingham's career.

"I would say that Jude Bellingham has a good chance of becoming the greatest English player of all time. And that's not easy to say," Lineker said.

"We've had other great players, but some of them haven't done as well for the national team as they have for club football."

Lineker also compared Bellingham with some of England's biggest legends.

"Bobby Charlton is one of the greatest, of course. Harry Kane is one of them, but what Bellingham does at this age, when he grabs a game by the scruff of the neck and single-handedly pulls England over the line... that's what makes him a superstar."

The statistics support the growing hype. Bellingham has now played 11 World Cup matches, scoring seven goals and providing two assists, extraordinary numbers for a midfielder who is still only 23 years old.

England will now rely on their biggest star once again when they face Argentina in the World Cup semi-finals, with Bellingham looking to take another step toward the trophy and strengthen the growing belief that he is becoming one of the finest players his country has ever produced.
