The English Football Association (FA) has yet to find a new manager, meaning they will likely start the Nations League with a temporary solution.
Following the resignation of manager Gareth Southgate after the lost European Championship final in Germany, the FA has found itself in a difficult position. The FA leaders had hoped to continue their projects with Southgate, but things did not go as planned.
Finding a good manager is not easy these days, and the English FA is now aware of this, even though they can offer a very good salary to the right candidate.
To date, England has not found a successor to Gareth Southgate, and with the new edition of the Nations League starting in a few weeks (early September), time is running out.
It increasingly looks like England will have to start the Nations League with an interim manager. The BBC reports that this interim role will likely go to Lee Carsley, who led the England U21 team to a European title last year.
Carsley is expected to lead England in the Nations League matches against Ireland and Finland.
