Kylian Mbappé, adapting to life at Real Madrid, acknowledges the challenges he’s faced since his high-profile transfer.
Despite scoring 11 goals and providing 2 assists in 21 appearances, expectations in Madrid remain sky-high, and Mbappé admits he’s yet to reach his full potential.
"When you arrive here, you discover something entirely new. A different club, climate, and environment—it awakens all your senses! I had to stop and observe what was happening around me. I’m confident I’ll succeed, but at first, I was too eager to prove myself and fell into the trap of impatience," said the 25-year-old French star.
Mbappé will have an opportunity to improve his form tonight in the Champions League, as Real Madrid faces a tricky away match against Atalanta in Bergamo. A win is crucial, given Real Madrid’s inconsistent European campaign, which includes three group-stage losses. The remaining three matches will be pivotal for their hopes of advancing to the knockout rounds.
In La Liga, Real Madrid has found form and is battling for the top spot. However, Mbappé acknowledges there’s room for growth as he adjusts to the unique challenges of representing Madrid. His summer move from Paris Saint-Germain, where he enjoyed eight highly successful seasons, marked a new chapter in his career.
