Kyle Walker reportedly had no involvement in the 'Daddy' shirts worn by Lauryn Goodman's children, Kairo and Kinara, during England matches at Euro 2024.
The incident gained public attention as Lauryn's children were seen sporting football kits with Walker’s number and the word 'Daddy' on the back, sparking rumors of the footballer’s involvement in their design.
Walker’s personal life has been in the media spotlight for years after it was revealed that he fathered two children—Kairo (4) and Kinara (13 months)—with model Lauryn Goodman following an affair, which led to a well-publicized paternity scandal. The Manchester City defender also shares four children with his wife, Annie Kilner: Roman (11), Riaan (7), Reign (5), and their youngest, Rezon (5 months).
The controversy reignited during Euro 2024 when Lauryn’s children were spotted in kits bearing Walker’s number and 'Daddy.' Lauryn had claimed that Walker purchased the kits for the children, fueling speculation that he had a hand in the personalisation. However, a source refuted these claims, telling the Daily Mail that while Walker did buy a plain kit for Kairo, he had no involvement in the printing or design.
According to the source: "Kyle bought one plain kit for Kairo and then Lauryn went out and bought another for Kinara. She had them both personalised with 'Daddy' and his number herself. That aspect had nothing to do with Kyle."
This clarification came as Walker’s children from his marriage to Annie Kilner were also seen wearing his No. 2 shirt at England’s matches, adding more attention to the situation. The relationship between Walker, Annie, and Lauryn has been strained since the news of the affair became public. During the Euro 2024 tournament, Annie was seen attending matches with other WAGs, while Lauryn sat in a separate stand with her children.
Lauryn was photographed attending England’s match against Denmark at Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt, further fueling public interest in the complex family dynamics.
On the professional front, Walker is facing challenges as well. He was recently left out of the England squad by new national team manager Lee Carsley for the upcoming Nations League fixtures. Despite admitting his disappointment, Walker remains determined to reclaim his spot by securing a starting position at Manchester City, where he faces competition from rising star Rico Lewis.
Manchester City are set to return to Premier League action on September 14 against Brentford.
