Ardian Ismajli, the Albanian defender currently with Empoli, has impressed scouts and is now on Juventus’ radar as they seek defensive reinforcements.

Ardian Ismajli, a 28-year-old Albanian center-back playing for Empoli, has caught the attention of Juventus scouts. During this week’s Nations League match between the Czech Republic and Albania, which ended in a 2-0 loss for Albania, a Juventus scout observed Ismajli, who earned high ratings for his solid performance.

Juventus’ interest in Ismajli follows an injury to Brazilian defender Bremer, who suffered a ruptured ACL, creating an urgent need for defensive options. Known for his consistency, Ismajli has become a key player in Empoli’s defense and is a regular starter for the Albanian national team. Juventus sees an opportunity to sign him affordably, as his contract with Empoli expires on June 30 with no renewal in sight.

Hajduk Split was the first to recognize Ismajli’s potential, bringing him from Kosovo’s KF 2 Korriku in February 2016. Initially joining the second team, he quickly progressed to the first team, where he made 93 appearances before transferring to Spezia in 2020 for €2.2 million. A year later, he moved to Empoli for €2 million and signed a four-year contract, now nearing its end. At the peak of his career, Ismajli could be on the verge of his biggest move yet with a potential January transfer to Juventus.
