Jose Mourinho playfully reminded fans of his trophy-filled career, joking he's “used to shiny things” in a new advert for Topps’ UEFA Euro 2024 Chrome trading card set.
Starring in the comedic ad, Mourinho, also known as the “Special One,” urges card creators to maximize the “chromy” effect on the new collection, which includes stars like Cristiano Ronaldo and Harry Kane.
In the advert, Mourinho appears in a parody lab setting, surrounded by protective-clad creators who are increasing the card’s shine to extreme levels. He humorously declares that he doesn’t need any protective gear because he’s accustomed to the “shiny things” in his trophy cabinet. Mourinho has returned as Topps’ global ambassador after his Euro 2024 role, endorsing the collection featuring popular players such as Rodri and Lamine Yamal.
Off the pitch, Mourinho is pursuing more silverware with Fenerbahce in Turkey, where he joined last summer following three years at Roma. During his time at Roma, he secured the Europa Conference League title, becoming the first manager to win all three major European competitions and the second to claim five major European trophies, following Giovanni Trapattoni.
Mourinho’s Fenerbahce currently sits second in the Turkish league, five points behind Galatasaray, and is ranked 21st in the Europa League standings. As he chases more accolades, Mourinho’s humorous advert reminds fans of his decorated career and enduring charisma.
