Italian media report that Cesc Fabregas is facing legal trouble over €36,000 in unpaid rent for his apartment in Switzerland.
Italian media have reported an unusual story about former Barcelona star and World Cup winner with Spain, Cesc Fabregas. The 37-year-old Spaniard is currently the coach of Italian club Como, which recently entered Serie A. It appears that he will face a tough battle to avoid relegation, as his team has only two points after four matches. However, Fabregas is also dealing with a somewhat bizarre situation off the pitch.
Fabregas is living in Bissone, a prestigious and wealthy region in Switzerland, located about 25 kilometers from Como. He has not purchased the property but is renting it, and reportedly, he hasn’t paid the rent for several months. According to Italian media, his outstanding debt now amounts to €36,000, and the property owner has decided to take the matter to court.
A hearing is scheduled for next week. Should Fabregas lose, the reports suggest that he could "become homeless," as the police may evict him and his family from the apartment. However, there is little doubt that one of the world’s former best midfielders will quickly find a solution if it comes to that.
