Barcelona are preparing for a crucial clash against Rayo Vallecano on Monday at Montjuïc, knowing that a victory would propel them to the top of La Liga.
With Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid both failing to win over the weekend, the opportunity is there for Hansi Flick’s side to seize control of the title race.
Flick: "We shouldn't look at the table"
Despite the high stakes, Flick remains focused on the bigger picture, insisting that Barcelona must concentrate on their performances rather than their league position.
"We shouldn't look at the table. There is still a long way to go, and right now all I care about is playing as well as possible," said the Barcelona coach.
"I feel that we are getting more confident and that the team is also aware of its strength. That is the most important thing."
Barcelona gaining momentum
With momentum building, Flick praised his squad's growing confidence and mentality.
"The players want to show what they are capable of and what mentality they have. This is great news for the coach. Our goal is to progress, and we are doing that very well at the moment," he added.
Barcelona’s performance against Rayo Vallecano will be a key test of their title credentials, as they aim to capitalize on their rivals' slip-ups and take the La Liga lead.
