The Norwegian goal machine, Erling Haaland, scored an acrobatic goal that will be replayed for a long time. Meanwhile, 19-year-old Feyenoord prodigy Antoni Milambo also made a name for himself.
Yesterday’s Champions League matches featured plenty of goals. Manchester City took their time to break down Sparta Prague, but once they did, the Czech side had no real chance. Phil Foden opened the scoring early to make it 1-0, and although the scoreline was close at halftime, the final whistle saw City comfortably win 5-0.
Erling Haaland shone once again with two goals, while defender John Stones added one. Matheus Nunes converted a late penalty to complete the rout.
In Lisbon, Benfica suffered a shocking 3-1 home defeat to Feyenoord. The Dutch side was led by 19-year-old midfield gem Antoni Milambo, who scored twice and showcased his excellent form with 11 appearances and six goals across all competitions. A versatile talent who can cover multiple midfield positions, Milambo is one to watch.
Another shock came in Madrid, where Atletico lost at home to Lille from France. Jan Oblak conceded three times, beaten by two players linked with transfers. Atletico had taken the lead in the 8th minute through new signing Julian Alvarez, who capitalized on a defensive error by Lille to score.
The comeback was started by Edon Zhegrova, Kosovo’s standout player this season, and continued by Jonathan David. The Canadian scored twice, the first from the penalty spot, and now has 10 goals and two assists in 15 matches across all competitions. Notably, David’s contract with Lille runs only until the summer of 2025, making him a hot transfer target.
