Jack Grealish and Harry Maguire joked about Cole Palmer's managerial potential in a lighthearted video for the England squad, but they couldn’t deny his brilliant form for Chelsea this season.
Jack Grealish didn’t hold back in a playful segment with Harry Maguire as the England teammates debated the managerial potential of their fellow Three Lions players. The video, which saw the duo ranking teammates based on their likelihood of becoming managers after retiring, took a hilarious turn when Cole Palmer was mentioned.
When Palmer’s name came up, Grealish pointed straight down, humorously placing him below all the other names on the board. Laughing, he said:
"Nah. CP Company. Ah Cole, what a guy, but there is no chance. He just makes me laugh, man. Cole does. But yeah, there is no chance he is becoming a manager. No way."
Maguire, playing along, managed to convince Grealish to at least place Palmer next to Phil Foden, who had been ranked as the least likely manager up until that point. The defender joked: "Sorry. Can you see we have added a new section haha."
Despite the jokes, Palmer’s performances on the pitch tell a different story. The Chelsea midfielder has been in sensational form this season, with 14 goals and 6 assists in just 21 Premier League appearances. His rise since joining Chelsea from Manchester City has made him one of the standout players in the league.
Meanwhile, Grealish himself has faced questions about his own career trajectory. Former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke recently suggested that the winger consider a move abroad to test himself in a new environment, particularly in Spain or Italy.
For now, Grealish and Maguire’s jokes about Palmer are all in good fun, but there’s no denying that Palmer’s on-field performances continue to speak louder than any banter off it.
