Israeli goalkeeper Omri Glazer takes responsibility after a critical mistake against France, expressing his commitment to improve and support his team in upcoming matches.

In a match in Budapest, Israel faced France, and the game took an unexpected turn with a major error by Israel’s goalkeeper, Omri Glazer. The incident occurred when a seemingly harmless shot from Eduardo Camavinga slipped past Glazer, resulting in a comical goal that many would categorize as an own goal due to Glazer’s mishandling of the ball.

After the game, Glazer addressed his mistake in an interview, saying, “This is part of the profession. Being a goalkeeper can be a cruel job at times. It’s tough when you start a game like this. I made a big mistake and take full responsibility. I never hide from criticism—I’m my own biggest critic. But I have to pull myself together. What else could I do? It was only the sixth minute, and we still had to play until the 90th.”

Despite the error, Glazer is set to remain in goal for Israel’s next match against Italy, where he hopes to redeem himself. He shared his motivation to stay strong for his team, adding, “I want to be there for the guys, to achieve something big, to try and bring happiness to the country during these challenging times. Unfortunately, we didn’t succeed this time, but tomorrow is a new day.”
