Former Partizan sports director Ivica Iliev suggests Fiorentina should consider signing Samed Baždar, comparing him to Sergej Milinković-Savić but faster and more modern.

Former Partizan sports director Ivica Iliev spoke to Fiorentina's fan site about Partizan player Samed Baždar.

Iliev believes that Fiorentina should acquire Baždar because he is young, promising, and finding a good center-forward today is difficult.

"Honestly, it's not just Fiorentina that's struggling to find a striker; it's a challenge for everyone. The reason is that there are no longer many great strikers who score 20 goals per season. If you don't pay, you can't have guarantees. Over the last 15 years, Fiorentina has done a great job with Partizan's youth, finding great talents."

"Today, when you look at the market, there aren't many like that anymore. Finding such a striker costs €35-40 million. If you look at the South American market, it's a big gamble; you never know exactly what you'll get. The football there is different. I believe Fiorentina should take a gamble within their means because there are no longer strikers like Dušan Vlahović."

Iliev added that Baždar would be a perfect solution, likening him to Sergej Milinković-Savić, but faster and more modern.

"At the moment, we have a player who was recently called up to the Serbian national team. His name is Samed Baždar. He is very similar to Sergej Milinković-Savić, takes similar shots, but is physically faster and more modern than him. We'll see where he plays next, but he is the type of player worth gambling on. I don't know how much he costs, but it's certainly not a lot of money."
