Thomas Tuchel is facing criticism in England over his approach to scouting domestic talent, with reports suggesting he has missed a significant number of Premier League matches since taking charge.

The influential The Times started the discussion, which has since been picked up by other major English outlets. The report states that Tuchel, who only began his role on January 1, has attended just half of the league rounds in person.

Instead of regularly attending matches, Tuchel reportedly watches games remotely and often travels back to Germany. This practice is in stark contrast to his predecessor Gareth Southgate, who frequently visited stadiums alongside his assistant Steve Holland.

While Tuchel is accused of being too distant from English football, the Football Association (FA) has defended him, confirming that he has been actively involved in national team training camps and has watched 17 matches, which they argue is still a significant number.

Sources close to Tuchel have pointed out that the coach returns to Germany regularly due to personal commitments, as he is divorced and has two daughters.
