In a heartfelt display of respect and admiration, fans of Eintracht Frankfurt unfurled a banner featuring the image of the legendary Serbian player and coach, Dragoslav Stepanović, known affectionately as Stepi.

This tribute came ahead of their match against Freiburg at the Vonovia Ruhr Stadium, which ended in a thrilling 3-3 draw.

Stepanović, a revered figure at the club, is remembered fondly by several generations of fans. He played for Eintracht Frankfurt from 1976 to 1978 and later returned as a coach from 1991 to 1993 and again in 1996. The banner showcased Stepanović in his iconic look – sunglasses, a cigarillo in his mouth, dressed in a suit and tie, embodying his charismatic presence on the sidelines.

The message on the banner read, "Rich in tradition, always fearless in battle. The journey is worth it," encapsulating the spirit Stepanović brought to the club. His legacy extends beyond Eintracht Frankfurt, having also managed teams like Bayer Leverkusen, Eintracht Trier, Stuttgarter Kickers, Kickers Offenbach, Rot-Weiß Oberhausen, and Leipzig.
