Dušan Vlahović has officially become a new player of Beşiktaş. The Serbian striker has signed a three-year contract with the Turkish giants after ending his four-year spell with Juventus.

For Vlahović, there is an interesting connection between the three clubs that have marked important stages of his career.

He began his professional journey with Partizan, later played for Juventus and will now represent Beşiktaş. All three clubs share the same famous black and white colours.

Vlahović arrived in Istanbul to a warm reception from supporters who had been waiting for him at the airport, and the Serbian international immediately made an impression with his first comments as a Beşiktaş player.

"It's incredible. I'm very happy to be here. I know what we want to do. I want to thank the president, everyone who worked on this transfer and, of course, my coach Vincenzo Italiano," Vlahović said.

"I was a Partizan fan, and I still am"

The 26-year-old then spoke about the colours that have followed him throughout his football life.

"Of course I love the black and white colours; they have accompanied me throughout my life. As a child I was a Partizan fan, and I still am. Then I played for Juventus, now I'm at Beşiktaş."

His reference to Partizan will certainly attract attention in Serbia, where Vlahović began a remarkable rise through professional football.

He signed his first professional contract with Partizan when he was only 15 years old.

Vlahović subsequently became the youngest first-team debutant and youngest goalscorer in the Belgrade club's history.

After two years around Partizan's senior team, Italy came calling.

From Partizan to Serie A

Vlahović joined Fiorentina and gradually developed into one of Serie A's most dangerous young strikers.

His goals in Florence attracted the attention of Juventus, who completed a major transfer for the Serbian in 2022.

Expectations in Turin were enormous.

Vlahović produced several excellent periods in a Juventus shirt, although injuries and changes around the team prevented him from consistently reaching the level many expected following his explosive performances at Fiorentina.

After four years with the Italian giants, his Juventus chapter has now ended.

Vincenzo Italiano played a role in the transfer

Vlahović's reference to Vincenzo Italiano is significant.

The pair already know each other from Fiorentina, where Vlahović played some of the best football of his career.

Beşiktaş will hope their reunion helps the Serbian rediscover the goalscoring form that once made him one of Europe's most sought-after strikers.

Moving from Serie A to Turkey represents a major change for Vlahović, but he arrives in Istanbul as one of the biggest names to join Beşiktaş in recent years.

At 26, he also has plenty of time to return to the level that once convinced Juventus to make such a major investment in him.

From Partizan to Juventus and now Beşiktaş, Vlahović's career has once again brought him back to black and white.
