Former Hajduk coach Damir Burić takes on a new role with Saudi second-division club Al-Arabi, his third consecutive position in this league.
Damir Burić, the Croatian football coach, has accepted a new role in Saudi Arabia as the head coach of Al-Arabi, a club competing in the country’s second division. This marks Burić's third consecutive position in the Saudi second tier.
Burić, who previously managed Ohod last season, led the team in 28 matches, averaging 1.14 points per game. After starting this season without a club, he has now signed on with Al-Arabi, who are currently in sixth place with eight points and a goal difference of 9:8 after six matches.
The contract Burić signed runs until the end of the current season. According to Dalmatinski portal, he will be joined by assistants Mario Osibov and Vedran Kukoč. Al-Arabi’s management hopes Burić can replicate his earlier success with Al-Riyadh, where he secured promotion to the Saudi Pro League just two years ago. Al-Arabi also has ambitions of moving up, having earned promotion to the second division in the 2021/22 season.
