Nasser Djiga’s transfer to Wolves earned Crvena zvezda €4M more than his €8M release clause, boosting their winter transfer profits to €20.7M.
The Serbian club sold Ognjen Mimović to Fenerbahçe for €8.7 million and Nasser Djiga to Wolverhampton for €12 million, significantly improving their financial situation.
Djiga, the Burkina Faso international, played a crucial role in Zvezda’s Champions League qualification, delivering standout performances against Bodø/Glimt, which helped the club earn over €30 million in prize money.
One of the most remarkable aspects of his transfer is that Djiga had a release clause of just €8 million, but Zvezda negotiated an extra €4 million, as Wolves were seemingly unaware of the clause.
Even more impressively, Djiga and his agent chose not to enforce the clause, allowing Zvezda to maximize their earnings from the transfer.
This decision further cemented his legendary status among the club's fans, who already admired him for his stellar performances over the past 18 months.
