Portugal defeated Scotland 2-1 in the second round of League A in the Nations League, maintaining their perfect record. Scotland took the lead with a goal from Scott McTominay in the 7th minute, and that scoreline held until halftime.
Portugal equalized in the 54th minute through Bruno Fernandes, and it was Cristiano Ronaldo who secured the victory in the 88th minute. Ronaldo came on as a substitute for Pedro Neto in the 46th minute and ultimately clinched the win for his national team.
Statistically, Portugal was the much stronger side. Roberto Martinez’s team had 26 shots on goal, seven of which were on target. Scotland managed just four shots, with two on target. In the next round, Portugal will travel to Poland, while Scotland faces Croatia.
