Chelsea have reportedly placed a €70 million valuation on French forward Christopher Nkunku, with Bayern Munich expressing interest in signing the former RB Leipzig star.
Christopher Nkunku, 26, could be on his way back to the Bundesliga, as Chelsea consider parting ways with the striker after just 18 months at the club. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are open to selling Nkunku and have set a €70 million price tag, signaling their intention to make a profit on the €62 million fee paid to sign him from Leipzig.
Nkunku’s time at Stamford Bridge has been plagued by injuries and a lack of consistent playing time under manager Enzo Maresca. Despite flashes of brilliance, the French international has made just 195 Premier League minutes this season, with most of his contributions coming in domestic cups and the Conference League.
In total, Nkunku has scored 13 goals and provided 4 assists in 28 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea, but his role has been limited in the Premier League.
Bayern’s interest and potential swap deal
Reports suggest that Bayern Munich are keen on bringing Nkunku back to Germany, where he enjoyed his breakout seasons with RB Leipzig. The Bundesliga champions are reportedly considering a swap deal involving Mathys Tel, the 19-year-old French forward, who could move to Chelsea as part of the arrangement.
The situation now hinges on negotiations between the two clubs, as Bayern weigh up their options and Chelsea evaluate potential reinforcements for their attacking lineup.
