Celtic’s Champions League knockout tie against Bayern Munich has officially sold out, with all tickets snapped up before reaching general sale.

The match will take place on Wednesday, February 12th, at a packed Celtic Park, setting the stage for a thrilling European night.

In positive news for the travelling support, Celtic fans will be allowed to attend the second leg at the Allianz Arena in Germany. This follows UEFA's disciplinary panel's decision not to impose an away fan ban, which had been under consideration due to pyrotechnic use during Celtic’s final group-stage match against Aston Villa.

Given Celtic’s history with UEFA sanctions—most notably the suspended sentence following pyro incidents against Borussia Dortmund—there were fears the governing body would take stronger action this time. However, Celtic’s legal team successfully argued that the Villa Park incident was caused by an individual, rather than an organized group display.

UEFA ultimately opted not to enforce the suspended away fan ban and instead issued Celtic a €10,000 (£8,000) fine. While the club has avoided harsher sanctions, they remain under serious warning, with any further incidents risking stricter penalties, including potential away supporter bans in the future.

Fans cleared for Munich showdown

This decision ensures the travelling Celtic support will be present to back their team in Munich, a crucial boost as the Hoops aim to upset the German giants. With the Celtic Park leg already sold out, the tie is shaping up to be a memorable European occasion.
