Sparta Prague submits an improved offer for Westerloo’s Bryan Reynolds, including €2.5 million and a sell-on clause. The Belgian club now holds the decision.

Sparta Prague continues its pursuit of Bryan Reynolds, the 23-year-old American right-back currently playing for Westerloo in Belgium. After their initial €2 million offer was rejected due to interest from other clubs, including Plymouth Argyle, Sparta has responded with an improved bid.

Belgian journalist Claudio Reulens reports that Sparta's revised offer includes €2 million upfront, €500,000 in performance-based bonuses, and an additional 10% sell-on clause for Westerloo. This clause would ensure that Westerloo earns a share of any profit Sparta makes if Reynolds is sold for a higher fee in the future.

Reynolds, a former AS Roma player, has been on Sparta's radar as the club looks to strengthen its defense after a challenging season. Despite a promising start with a domestic double and a Champions League group stage victory over Salzburg, Sparta has struggled to maintain consistency, falling far behind league leaders Slavia Prague.

Sparta’s management has decided to support coach Lars Friis, aiming to secure at least second place in the league to keep their Champions League hopes alive. Adding Reynolds to the squad would address defensive vulnerabilities exposed by injuries and bolster their campaign.

The decision now lies with Westerloo, who must weigh Sparta’s offer against other potential suitors. A resolution is expected soon as Sparta seeks to finalize the deal and integrate Reynolds into their squad.
