Barcelona president Joan Laporta confirmed that the club has overcome its financial troubles and will now be able to operate normally in the transfer market.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta announced today that the club has resolved the financial difficulties that hindered their ability to buy and register new players over the past few years. Speaking at a press conference, Laporta revealed that Barcelona has returned to the 1:1 rule, meaning they can now spend freely in the transfer market.
Laporta’s statement comes shortly after Dani Olmo and Pau Victor were officially registered with the club, following a ruling by the National Sports Council. This registration marks a significant step in the club’s recovery process. Laporta stated, "We have returned to the 1:1 rule, which means that we can buy new players normally and that we have been able to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor. This is proof of the strength of our club, and in doing so we have also denied the apocalyptic narrative."
During the press conference, Laporta also highlighted the extensive efforts made by the club’s management to stabilize Barcelona’s financial situation. He explained, "We worked hard to consolidate a very detailed strategic plan, which was reviewed every week by our executives. We succeeded because we love Barça. We faced the challenge, we never gave up, and the hard work of our management paid off in the end."
The Barcelona president didn’t shy away from addressing external pressures faced during this period, adding, "There have been many attempts from outside to destabilize our club, but no one can defeat our crest." His remarks reflect the resilience of Barcelona’s management amid financial scrutiny and external criticism.
Laporta’s announcement signals a turning point for Barcelona, which has struggled with severe financial constraints in recent years. The return to normal operations in the transfer market is expected to boost the club’s competitiveness both in La Liga and on the European stage.
