Karim Onisiwo joins Salzburg from Mainz, signing a contract until June 2026. The Austrian winger brings experience to a team aiming to close the gap in the league standings.
Austrian club RB Salzburg has announced the signing of Karim Onisiwo, a 32-year-old winger, from Mainz 05 in the Bundesliga. Onisiwo has inked a contract with Salzburg that runs until June 2026.
The experienced attacker leaves Mainz after a seven-year stint, during which he made 233 appearances across all competitions and scored 35 goals. On the international stage, Onisiwo represented Austria between 2015 and 2023, earning 24 caps and scoring once.
Currently, Salzburg sits fifth in the Austrian Bundesliga with 26 points, trailing league leaders Sturm Graz by 10 points. The addition of Onisiwo is seen as a move to strengthen their push for better results in the remainder of the season.
