Arsenal have launched an investigation into violent online threats made towards Kai Havertz’s wife, Sophia, after the club’s FA Cup defeat to Manchester United.

Arsenal are investigating disturbing online threats aimed at Kai Havertz’s wife, Sophia Weber, after the team’s FA Cup loss to Manchester United. The shocking incident follows Havertz’s crucial missed penalty that ultimately led to the Gunners' elimination from the competition.

The intense match at the Emirates Stadium saw Havertz involved in key moments, including a foul drawn from Harry Maguire that earned Arsenal a penalty. However, captain Martin Odegaard missed the opportunity, keeping the score level at 1-1. Despite playing against 10-man United after Diogo Dalot was sent off in the 60th minute, Arsenal failed to capitalize, with the game eventually being decided by a penalty shootout.

Havertz missed a decisive spot-kick in the shootout, allowing United to secure their place in the next round. The defeat compounded Arsenal’s woes after their recent Carabao Cup semi-final loss to Newcastle. Following the game, Sophia Weber shared screenshots on her Instagram story of vile threats she received, including horrifying messages targeting her unborn child.

One disturbing message read, "I'm going to come to your house and slaughter your baby. I'm not joking, just wait." Another read, "I hope you have a miscarriage," both messages sent by anonymous Instagram users. Sophia expressed her dismay over the hateful messages, which sparked widespread condemnation.

According to The Standard, Arsenal have engaged a third-party investigator specializing in identifying online abusers. The club has stated that they will seek the strongest possible action against those responsible if they are identified.
