Just six months after retiring from active football, German media reports that Ozil is returning to the "business."
After Turkey dismissed coach Stefan Kuntz following a loss to Japan, changes are being prepared for this national team.
The leading candidate to succeed Kuntz is Joachim Low, the former German national team coach, and he is expected to work alongside.
Specifically, as reported by German media, Ozil has been offered the role of the main football figure in Turkey and is expected to collaborate closely with the new coach.
Ozil could potentially lead a new Turkish national team towards the European and World Championships.
Kuntz was dismissed due to his recent unsuccessful attempts to achieve good results. Moreover, he had a heated argument with Hakan Calhanoglu, who is a national hero in his country.
It will be interesting to see if Ozil accepts the job that, according to German media, has been offered to him.
Ozil spent a significant part of his career at Arsenal, from where he moved to Fenerbahçe in 2020. After that, he played for Istanbul Basaksehir, where he decided to end his career.
