Jose Mourinho, the renowned Portuguese manager of Italian club AS Roma, expressed significant dissatisfaction with his team's performance following a disappointing 1-1 draw in Switzerland against Servette.
Mourinho lamented the lack of commitment and focus among his players, contrasting their attitude unfavorably with that of Manchester City's squad, managed by Pep Guardiola.
Mourinho's Critique: In the aftermath of the Europa League group stage match, Mourinho did not mince words about his team's lackluster performance. He pointed out that while opponents are naturally motivated when trailing by just one goal, his players displayed an alarming level of carelessness and lack of motivation. This attitude, according to Mourinho, resulted in Roma squandering a chance to solidify their position in the group, which also includes Sheriff, Servette, and Slavia Prague.
Among the squad, Mourinho singled out Bryan Cristante for his consistent focus and exemplary performance. He also commended Leandro Paredes for his efforts. However, Mourinho expressed frustration at the inability to rotate his squad as freely as Guardiola does at Manchester City, highlighting the limitations he faces in managing Roma's lineup.
Despite being favorites in their Europa League group, Roma's draw with Servette has left them in a precarious position. With the Czech team Slavia Prague currently leading the group, Roma faces an uphill battle to secure their place in the knockout stages.
