The owners of Chelsea FC, led by Todd Boehly through the investment fund BlueCo, acquired the French Ligue 1 club Strasbourg before the start of the new season.
Despite significant investments, both Chelsea and Strasbourg are facing considerable sporting challenges. Strasbourg, under previous management, had serious financial issues, but the arrival of American capital changed the club's business strategy.
Patrick Vieira, a renowned football figure, was appointed as the new coach, and more than 30 million euros were allocated for team reinforcements. However, the team has been struggling, failing to win a single game since September 24. This situation mirrors Chelsea's, where despite substantial financial input, the club has been declining in the English football hierarchy.
The Ultra Boys 90, Strasbourg's largest organized fan group, have expressed their displeasure with the new owners. They have displayed banners condemning the 'multi-ownership of football clubs' and have specifically targeted Boehly, stating that BlueCo will never be welcome in Strasbourg. The fans criticize the lack of competence, drawing parallels with Chelsea's situation, and reject the destructive sports policy associated with multi-club ownership.
