Osijek is in search of a forward, and a sporadic national team player has been training with the first team for several days. However, a decision about his engagement has not been made yet.
One of the positions Osijek wants to strengthen is the forward role. The team is relying on Ramon Mierez, but they wanted to ease his burden, so names like Fran Brodić and Komnen Andrić were considered, but their transfers did not materialize, according to Sportske novosti.
During the transfer window, reinforcements arrived at Opus Arena in defense, full-backs, and midfield, but the search for a forward continues. The possibility of a potential offensive reinforcement was also mentioned by sports director Ivica Kulešević, indicating they are in talks with one.
In recent days, the occasional Iraqi national team player, 23-year-old striker Mohaned Ali, has been training with Osijek's first team. As reported by Sportske novosti, even though Ali is training with Osijek, a decision about his engagement has not been finalized.
Ali is a player for Qatari club Al Duhail, with whom he has a contract until next summer, but he is not in the plans for the first team. Throughout his career, he has been loaned to Al Sailiya, Portimonense, and Aris. He made his debut for the Iraqi national team at 17 and has scored 17 goals in 38 appearances.
