Experienced Macedonian international, Aleksandar Trajkovski (31), will become a new player for Hajduk, as reported by Italian media outlets Calciomercato and Tuttomercato.
According to these Italian sports publications, Trajkovski was on the radar of both Dinamo and Hajduk. However, in the end, the Macedonian chose Hajduk and is expected to undergo a medical examination tomorrow before signing the contract.
He joins Hajduk as a free agent after his contract with Al-Fayha from Saudi Arabia expired. He is notably remembered for his performances with Palermo and for scoring the goal that dashed Italy's hopes of participating in the World Cup in Qatar.
He had previously tried his luck in the HNL when, as a 17-year-old in 2010, he moved to Inter Zaprešić from Skopje's Cementarnica. In the 2010/11 HNL season, he played only 10 matches, scoring three goals and providing four assists.
He left Inter before his 19th birthday and then signed for Waregem in Belgium. He also played for Mechelen, Palermo, Mallorca, Aalborg, and the aforementioned club from Saudi Arabia. However, many remember him most for his time at Palermo, where he scored 20 goals and provided 16 assists in 113 matches. For the Macedonian national team, he has scored 19 goals in 71 appearances.
In partnership with Marko Livaja, Trajkovski could be crucial for Hajduk in their quest for the title.
