Luka Jović is absent from Fiorentina's 25-man squad against Lecce, fueling speculation of a potential move to Fenerbahçe.
Jović, who was once the most expensive Serbian footballer following a €60 million move to Real Madrid in 2019, has found himself out of favor at Fiorentina. He was not registered for the UEFA Conference League qualification match and remained benched throughout the game against Genoa.
The 25-year-old striker, who played 50 matches and netted 13 goals for Fiorentina last season, is reportedly not part of Italiano's plans for the current campaign. This has led to increased speculation about his next destination, with Fenerbahçe emerging as a strong contender.
Red Star Belgrade has also expressed interest in bringing Jović back to Serbia, particularly as a reinforcement for their UEFA Champions League campaign. However, the player's high salary at Fiorentina is seen as a stumbling block for the move.
Other clubs, including AC Milan, are also reportedly monitoring the situation, and forwards Edin Džeko and Michy Batshuayi are also being considered as potential replacements at Fenerbahçe.
As the transfer window nears its close, Jović's future remains uncertain, but what is clear is that his time at Fiorentina appears to be coming to an end.
